The Illinois Business Alliance is a nonprofit business league that exists to improve Illinois’ business climate and promote the common economic interests of its members. Our goal is to turn Illinois into a business-friendly state by advancing a pro-growth agenda. To achieve this goal, IBA engages in educational, advocacy, and lobbying activity on behalf of member businesses.

Jared D. Carl is President and Co-Founder of the Illinois Business Alliance. In this role, Jared fights for the conditions that allow for businesses to succeed in Illinois. 


In 2020, Jared was the leading voice calling on Gov. Pritzker and the General Assembly to remove the graduated income tax amendment from the ballot. His work has been featured in major news outlets in Illinois and nationally, including The State Journal-Register, The Chicago Tribune, Crain's Chicago Business, RealClearPolitics, and other leading outlets. 

A native of Seattle, Washington, Jared moved to the Midwest to attend Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. Jared's professional experience spans education, public policy, and advocacy. He and his wife live in the Western Suburbs with their daughter, son, and pug.
